I chose this scale because of two reasons, #1 it is RCBS, and #2 because it has battery power capability. It is extremely accurate and does not lose its calibration. I tested it with the RCBS deluxe weight check set and it was dead on for every weight and every combination of weights I tried. I was impressed. It is easy to use. The one downside it has is that it will automatically zero itself when at zero. For example, if you drop a very small weight on it, such as 0.1 grains, it will readjust itself to 0 afterwards. It doesn't do this if you add 0.2 grains or more from 0. I think they designed it this way so it wouldn't wander off of zero, but I'd rather hit the zero button myself that to have it adjust without me knowing. Not a big deal though, other than this it works perfectly! Alan

Some of the best money I've spent on reloading gear. Simple to use / calibrate. Holds calibration well. Fast to use. My Hornady powder drop is not calibrated. You kind of trial and error your way to a load. Having a powder scale like this is a must in such a situation. Trying to zero in on a load by trial and error with a beam, forgetaboutit. I also like the dual power option, AC or Battery. No downsides to report so far. Glad I went for it rather than a "starter" unit then have to upgrade. Enjoy.

I purchased the RangeMaster 750 to measure bullet weights because it's a real pain to do with a Balance Beam scale. I was a little hesitant to get this one because of some of the reviews I've read concerning constantly having to re-calibrate the scale. I've found that if I leave it ON all the time (with the AC-Adapter) that all the re-calibration problems go away. Before I begin to use it, I check it and it's always Zeroed and then I use the included CAL WEIGHTS just to be sure. The scale is always dead-on accurate and very seldom needs calibration. This scale is definitely worth the price, I just wish I had bought this one sooner. To sum up, battery life is not that long but I don't use batteries any longer, just leave it turned-on with the AC Adapter or give it at least an hour to warm up and settle down and this scale will perform very well for you. Get one, you'll be glad you did! Just be sure to get it from MidwayUSA in the rare case you may have a problem, their Return Policy can't be beat anywhere. Thanks MidwayUSA for stocking this item!

Great little scale at a reasonable price. Seems to be every bit as accurate as my beam balance scale is. Also worthy of note, the comments about the plastic powder pan apparently don't apply anymore. When I received my scale I was pleased to find that RCBS are now providing an aluminum pan, not the plastic one pictured on the product page here at MidwayUSA.

Really great device! There are so many reviews for this already that mine isn't likely to sway anyone, but I think it's a great tool for my application. And, for the price I don't see how you can beat it. I had it calibrated in 15 seconds (after reading the instructions, of course) and never had it stray off zero. I use it to weigh lead air rifle pellets to make sure what I'm shooting all match (makes a big difference). The display is almost instantaneous and makes sorting so easy and quick. I have done 1500 pellets so far (it helps to watch TV while you're doing this) and never had to re-zero even once. I believe the accuracy of the unit is right on, for grams anyway, because the majority of the pellets measure as stated on the tin with +- .1 to .3 gram deviations on a small percentage. And, I always periodically cross check ones I've already weighed to make sure there has been no drift. For what I'm doing I have nothing I would want changed (except maybe add an automatic pellet feeder. From my experience You won't go wrong with this device.

Great Product. My 1st Digital scale and I would imagine my last. Good construction, EXTREMELY sensitive. Took me a little time to realize that during close inspection of the pan the faint contact from my breathing was changing the weight by several 10ths of a grain. Also realized not to have a fan nearby & turned on while measuring. Been great. Only negative I can see is that under battery power it auto-offs every 5mins. So ended up using the AC adapter which now has tethered the device. Only wish every time the unit is turned on it wouldn’t have to be recalibrated. Not any different from other scales. Process is simple though and having done it enough can zing thru in about 45seconds on startup. Would buy again.

I purchased my scale for weighing .177 cal pellets. I needed a scale that measured down to 1/10 grain accurately and was repeatable. This scale is very easy to operate and calibrate. I also use 3 pellets of a known weight to check scales zero every 100 pellets or so and this scale holds its zero very well. I had to re-zero it twice out of about 1100 pellets so far and all it takes is the push of the "zero" button to do it. These pellets weigh 7.8 - 7.9 grains by the way. Very accurate, consistent and easy to use. I fully recommend it.

Outstanding scale for the money! This is one of the most accurate scales I have purchased is easy to use and very reliable. It requires minor zero checks between approximately 15 or 20 pistol loads and about every 6 rifle loads. If you let it warm up for 30 minutes or so, I find this nuisance pretty much goes away. It is the best scale for the money! I use to have a PACT 120 volt scale and that was a disaster! The PACT cost more and failed to perform! I also find the RCBS scale is not as susceptible to temperature and minor passive air flow! It is sensitive to rapid air movement but stabilizes quickly! Easy to read LED. Additionally it is extremely accurate at all weights measured! This is one of the best and most accurate scales I have ever purchased! I am very pleased with the performance and strongly recommend the scale! One note, You should warm it up for a minimum of 15 minutes before use as well as calibration before each reloading session which is not uncommon with electronic scales.

Had two different Lyman 1500XP scales that I gave up on. (See my review.) Decided to try this one.... Works perfectly! After powering it up and letting it sit on my loading bench for a few hours to stabilize, (it was delivered in 95 degree heat on my porch) I calibrated it, checked with weights, and loaded up fifty rounds. Never lost zero. Never failed a spot check with the test weights. Gave quick readings. Came with a deep METAL pan. Five stars.

I bought this scale about two weeks ago based on the reviews I read at Midway. It seemed to have the fewest negative reviews. I don't intend to use it as a powder scale for reloading but rather a fast way to weigh bullets, arrow tips and arrows. I will still use my beam scale for reloading. I found the scale very easy to calibrate with the enclosed instructions and have had absolutely no problems with this scale holding zero. It has weighed dozens of arrows and arrow tips in about one tenth the time of my beam scale. It is a very nice addition to my reloading bench. If I had one suggestion for RCBS it would be to make a notch in the pan to hold arrows. I had to modify my pan with a pair of pliers and it works just fine. Great product!

This is a follow up to my 01/02/2009 review. I called RCBS when they reopened after the holidays. Presumably, to get a replacement unit. However, the very pleasant customer service rep explained a fix for the problem I was experiencing. The solution is termed "The Love Tap", which is a specific series of taps on the platen with the scale powered on. Should this procedure be necessary? Probably not. Why am I giving it a 5 star rating after all of this? Because now that the problem is solved, this scale workds FLAWLESSLY. It will hold zero for hours on end. Items of a known weight will display the same weight. Time after time!

Love it. I had been using the $25 Frankford Arsenal for awhile (a very touchy little unit, got to the point I didn’t trust what it was telling me). The 750 though works great, returns to zero every time. I do calibrate it every time I turn it on (Why wouldn’t you? It takes < 20s!) Always gives me consistent readings, I know 168gr AMAX bullets almost always weight within .1gr of 168 and that's what it tells me every time. One odd thing about this, maybe its normal for electronic scales. If you weigh bullets or cases without the metal dish, when you begin to lower it to the pad the scale begins to display arbitrary numbers, not caused by air movement either. Very weird, but as soon as you set it down it works fine.

This scale is very accurate and does not drift. It settles in on the correct weight very quickly too. I had one of the "Frankford Arsenal Micro Reloading Electronic Scales", but within 3 minutes of calibration, it would drift 3 or more grains. Even with 10 degree temperature changes, it will only change a tenth of a grain against the check weight and the 8mm mauser case I weigh every day (to see how the scale is doing). While there are multiple steps to calibrate it, once you are used to it its very quick and easy. Only one complaint (and almost all electronic scales are this way) most tricklers cannot reach the powder pan from the right hand side. I guess the lefties get a break once in awhile.

When I first got this scale, it wouldn't hold zero or calibration within the specified accuracy of +/- 0.1 grains. That should mean that any two readings would repeat within 0.2 grains of each other. Zero and calibration drift over 10 minutes and a number of measurements were on the order of 0.8 grains. I couldn't get it to stabilize even after an hour of ON time using the power supply. Finally, I decided the drift might be due to residual stresses in the weigh beam, looseness in the weigh beam mount or to creep in the strain gauge cement... problems I've had with data acquisition systems I've designed and used in the past. So, I gently and carefully pushed the pan straight down with one finger until I felt it bottom out on the stop. It should be designed to go down to the stop without damage, so I felt this was okay. After doing this and checking the zero shift each time, the zero shift finally settled down after about 6 or 8 full travel excursions. I didn't count and this is a once in a scale life time occurrence so I can't repeat it. That really stabilized the zero as long as I wait about 5 seconds after the little "Stable" arrow comes back. Then, I was finding that the calibration was not repeatable even when carefully using the same check weights (240 and 300 grain bullts). After some trial and error I determined that waiting an extra 5 seconds AFTER the little "Stable" arrow EVERY time it came back during the calibration process made the calibration very repeatable. With these little workarounds, it is near-perfect. For VERY accurate measurements I wait about 5 seconds after the little "Stable" arrow comes back and it seems to repeat within +/- 0.05 grains, or so. I'm reasonably sure the accuracy (which is only as good as your calibration weights, at best) is in the same range, but I don't have a really good set of check weights to verify it well enough to be sure. Otherwise, it's small, handy and easy to use with a trickler or any task I can think of. I'd give it a 5 if they did the stabilization at the factory, or mentioned it in the manual, and if the "Stable" arrow really meant stable well enough to meet its specs.

When I first started using the scale I had to zero between every load. After about 10-12 rounds I only had to rezero it every 20 rounds or so. Using the electronic scale did make reloading much faster than using my balance scale.

I called RCBS and was told that they have no idea what causes that, but it is a fatal error. Scale has to be replaced. I sent mine back to Midway, they replaced it and credited me for shipping cost. I certainly can't ask for better service from Midway. My new scale seems to work fine, holding calibration for the one extended(several hours) session that I have used it.

It's smaller than I expected but it works fine once you understand you have to center the pan on its seat each time you replace it. Works great for trickling. I only use it with the nine volt battery, not 100V power. A nine volt battery (alkaline) lasts about four months. The zeroing procedure takes a few seconds before you start loading but you quickly get used to it. All in all, I'm real happy with it.

Great product, so much faster than a mechanical scale. I initially found I was having to frequently re-zero the scale as it would start to drift as much as 3 or 4 tenths of a grain. But I found the fix for this problem right here among the reviews! So let me just echo another reviewer's suggestion: For those of you who have a wandering zero with your scale, try using the AC adapter and simply leave the scale on all the time. It will keep the scale "warmed up" and stable. Since doing that my scale has been dead-on with a rock solid zero. Just calibrate it prior to every loading session and you're all set. Give it a try!

The only reson I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the plastic scale pan. Powder sticks to it. I bought a metal pan, and it made all the difference. Works great. You don't have to cal it every time like the instructions say. Just check it with the weights. Great if you want to throw a low charge and trickle up. I do wish I had bought the 1500 so I could upgrade to the ChargeMaster later.

Have only had this scale for a short time, but when it first arrived, it wouldn't read 0.0 after calibration weights were removed. When after several tries it started working correctly, I noticed that it would not hold the 0.0 reading after several measurements, but would move up by one or two tenths upon pan replacement on the scale, and would require me to re-zero for the empty pan. I don't know if this is a large enough error to worry about, but I didn't get this scale for approximate measurements.

Made in China and the warranty from RCBS is only good for 1 year . I did get 1 year of use from it and will buy another when it’s on sale again.

I purchased this scale approximately 8 months ago and it always seemed to need a long warm up period, maybe 90 minutes, before holding a constant 0.0 without drifting. During that 90 min. warm up, I had to re-calibrate it every 20 rounds but once it warmed up, it worked the rest of the evening without the need for re-calibration. After 8 months and about 4000 rounds, it stopped calibrating completely. As I went through the calibration process it was fine until the last step, where you place the powder tray on the platen and press ZERO, the display would jump between GR and GMS, (Grains and Grams). This was unfortunate because I was just sitting down to load a bunch of ammo for a vacation I was about to take, not that there is ever a good time for your powder scale to go on the fritz! I called up Midway and they directed me to RCBS who, to their credit, have a No Questions Asked, Lifetime Warranty on their digital scales. Hope the new one they send lasts longer! Correction to my previous review: This scale does NOT have a Lifetime Warranty, as I previously thought, but a 2 year warranty. I'm even less enthuastic than ever before now that I know that!

The scale is great when it's working. Sometimes won't work right. The buttons don't respond or do other functions then what they were intended for.

The RangeMaster 750 is easy to use and has clear instructions which are nice. The zero drifts significantly, gaining about .1 grain every 2-3 minutes. I have found that I need to re-zero after every use, and sometimes twice. If I do not re-zero constantly it gains steadily, a very dangerous situation. I have tried it in multiple locations, and re-calibrated it each time I turn it on. I would not buy this product again or recommend it.

Purchased this unit as I needed an extra scale. Unfortunately, this scale has problems with drifting zero for no apparent reason. I've calibrated it so many times, tried different pans, locations, power outlets, etc. and it continues. I'd recommend a ChargeMaster 1500 Scale instead, it’s a little more but well worth it.

Bought one of these, assuming it was made by RCBS and would have comparable quality to their other products. I was disappointed with it's accuracy. I ran through the calibration procedure several times, warming up the unit for 1 hour, keeping it away from fluorescent lights, drafts, etc. After calibration, I re-weighed the supplied calibration weights and they were off by 0.3-0.4 grams each. This translates to 0.15-0.2%, which is untrustworthy for powder loads in my opinion. Also, removing the pan and replacing it would show up to 0.2 grains. I loaded some .357 mag. loads with starting loads and they seemed like max. loads after testing. Can't live with that. This would be a good scale to check bullet weights, but not for powder charges. When I was re-packing it for return, I turned the unit over and saw the "MADE IN CHINA" label. This speaks for itself.

I got this unit because it was RCBS and an upgrade to my Lee balance scale. The unit would not hold zero, readings were too sensitive to any movement near it and was requiring re-cal with every weight charge. I went back to the balance scales.

It worked well for about a year and a half. Then, it started to fluctuate; first a little bit, then a whole lot. I have been using a manual balance scale lately, which is a pain in the butt. I will not buy another of these.

Went to calibrate according to instructions in manual. Press the "Cal" button in step 2. Well the "Cal" button in step 2 turns the unit off and on. So does the off and on button. I have returned this defective unit for a refund. If this company cannot get a simple pad to work properly, I have zero faith that it will do anything accurately.

Received in mail today brand new and will not work at all. AC or battery neither will power up the scale. Has a nice QC sticker on bottom awesome. No damage to box or interior. Just won't work.

What a piece of junk. I've had this thing about a year and used it very little, maybe a few hours. Now the calibrate button is another on/off button, although when it worked it was nice. I'm not going to spend another $20 in shipping fees for RCBS to replace it so it can work for another hour or two as I have no confidence in the durability of the product. The old ones may be good but the new ones with the made in china sticker on the bottom are crap. I wouldn't buy another one. This is my first, and only, RCBS product. It certainly didn't do them any favors to get any more of my business.

I purchased a large supply of bullets, and needed an accurate scale to weigh them. The scale went for working for about 10 minutes, to not holding a 0, and having to continually zero the scale, to not working at all. Back to Midway, regrettably and I will be looking for one that works.

I ordered this 750 to replace a worn out mechanical beam scale. The first unit worked flawlessly for one evening, then would not calibrate. RCBS replaced it at no cost. However, the replacement failed to calibrate right out of the box. I have used RCBS products for years with satisfaction and confidence. This scale does not do RCBS any good. I am amazed at the number of excellent reviews. It is a guess, but I'm betting the quality control folks took a break, or the unit was farmed out to a different manufacturer (from the early ones) who does not have RCBS' best interests at heart.
