Bought these for my "Duty Tactical" 870 Police Gun. Best sight I could have chosen! No problem installing them and they look and function great.

I love Trijicon sights. The gost ring night sights I purchased for my shotgun are perfect. They are a tactical advantage in any situation. I only had trouble having the sights mounted. The Trijicon gost ring sights have to be mounted on your shotgun by a profesional gunsmith. These are not a do it yourelf project at home. The money you spend on a gunsmith is well spent after you you take your gun to the range. You wont be dissapointed.

This was one of many parts I put on my 870 and one of the most practical. Note, take a look at the AGI Video "Building the Fighting Remington 870" Video first. There is a difference in the reciever profile on the 870 and this is discussed in the video. I found out the hard way.

Put mine on an 18" HD 870. Can put 7 shots in pretty tight groups with slugs at 25 yds in the center of a silhouette target. Excellent at 10 yards with buck or bird. Paid 40 bucks to get them mounted by a gunsmith since you have to grind down the front site and drill and tap for the back one. I have never had to adjust them at all. Also they are extremely visible at night unlike other non tritium so called night sights. Great product.

Good sight set, great price. They are not the brightest, but are sufficient for night time use. The only thing I wish they would have done different would be to include ears to protect the sights like most other combat long gun sights have, and the ears around the front sight should be ramped to the rear to prevent it from snagging on brush or gear. Regarding installation, if in doubt, take it to a gunsmith, but it is not unreasonable for someone with mechanical ability to install it, as I did. You will need a #33 drill bit and 6-40 tap to drill and tap the receiver to install the rear sight. Screws are included. To do this, the holes have to be as precisely aligned as possible. The instructions give the measurements of the holes relative to the front of the receiver, in order to align the sight correctly, but they have to be centered left to right, and the flat stripe on the top of the receiver is a poor guide, being it can be off to one side or another. You definitely want to use a drill press and a vise, or better yet a milling fixture in order to line the holes up and drill them correctly. For the front sight, I elected to drill from the side through the sight, and the original base, and installed a 1/16"x1/2" roll pin instead of the included epoxy. This way the sight can be easily removed if needed, and is more secure than with epoxy, and is the same method Wilson combat uses to install this sight on their factory guns. The only other thing to mention is that the front sight bead has to be cut off and filed down flush with the front base.

I had a gunsmith put these sights on my 870 after reading the reviews. I was very unhappy with the brightness of these night sights. Trijicon said the green dots were the brightest and that's what I bought. The sights are so dim you can't see them good unless you're in almost total darkness and if it's that dark and you can't see what your shooting at what good are the sights. They're stuck on my gun with epoxy and screws now, at least there OK for day sights. The performance is bad and I would not recommend this sight set for night use.
