Remington cartridge cases are carefully drawn from specially-alloyed brass to provide consistently exact internal volume and resistance to case stretching and brittleness. Primer pocket tolerances are held to .001", and closely monitored case neck annealing ensures easier re-sizing and longer reloading life. New, unprimed brass. This is not loaded ammunition. Bulk brass should be full-length sized, trimmed and chamfered before loading.

Preparation:

  • Due to the manufacturing process and/or shipping, case mouths may not be perfectly round. To ensure a round case mouth, cases must be sized (or have the expander ball of the sizing die run through case neck) and deburred/Chamfered prior to loading.

    Notes:
  • A light "staining" may be found on the case neck of new brass. This is due to annealing. Annealing is a process, performed by the manufacturer, which involves rapid heating to a specified temperature followed by rapid cooling. This process imparts cases with the proper hardness to securely hold a bullet as well as gives flexibility to expand and contract upon firing and repeated forming. The "staining" is a residue from this process. This stain may be removed by tumbling before loading.

Good consistency, flash holes were centered and the overall quality was better than expected. After chamfering and deburring the final finished product is top-rate. Good value.

This was Quality Brass. Very even in weight and all Right at Trim length +/- .002" . Got Bags of one hundred and every bag had 102 to 105 Case in the Bag. A fluke I would say. But Nice to have extra to replace bad cases.

The weight was pretty consistent on the 500 I got recently, with 95% or so falling within 1 grain of each other. Length and sizing was good. Perhaps quality varies lot to lot, but I am disappointed with the neck uniformity I have seen, which varied up to .005", and a large percentage is .0035" different from thick to thin sides. Approximately 25% of the brass pieces have .001" or less neck variation. Using the random brass versus sorted brass can mean the difference between 1" groups and consistent .2-.3" groups, assuming the gun and shooter are up to it. FYI, Winchester brass I bought was more uniform on the neck thickness. Depending on your expectations of accuracy, you may or may not need to buy better brass or neck turn the Remington brass.
