After 30 years of reloading I am still looking for high quality products that take the chore out of reloading and put the fun and speed back into it. This product does just that, with a motor with enough torque to drive a small car and 5 rotating tools available at the same time this is a must have reloading accessory, RCBS is a real innovator with new timesaving products. Buy this and you will never look back or regret the investment.

This machine is excellent for every step of case prep. The torque and speed seems about perfect for getting an operation done (debur, etc.) in about 1-2 seconds a step. I have completely prepped about 1000 cases so far. Makes primer pocket uniforming and the like more accessable and repeatable. Highly recommended. Cons/comments: The mica powder containers are a little weak, and are hard to seal between uses. There is no closed storage on the machine for spare brushes. Also, mine has a slight wobble in the spindles, but this seems not to affect the actual operation. Also, degrease case body or your hands get tired from having to grip them hard enough for the cutters not to grab them. Thinking about using Neoprene gloves to eliminate hand exhaustion.

As many others have said, This is a great tool how did I live without it. This tool will help improve your shooting! I never realized so many different manufactures of brass have a lot of variances in one cartridge to the next (thickness of flash holes, depth and uniformity of primer pockets, etc). Get the other tools that are optional (unfortunately) for this and start making your cases more uniform and you will see what I am talking about. Worth the money if you are serious about accuracy.

I really like how much quicker this product makes case prep work compared to doing it by hand and by coming with most of the tools used for prepping cases there really isn’t a whole lot more you need. My father in-law and I also bought the primer pocket uniformer tool which is made by Lyman and it screwed right in, since the threading is universal. It really is a great choice for the reloader who shoots a lot.

I was not sure about this unit but it had good reviews and like the other posts I wished I had gotten it sooner. A little motor tied to a gear box driving large work gears give it plenty of power. Only problem was when I went to move to another place on the bench the green top came of allowing the gears to fall out of place[this is why I know what the inside looks like]. Called RCBS they said send it in be more than willing to take care of the defective top. I told them I would be willing to do the labor saving time and money if would send a new top. They said ok I have received the top this all done over phone totally on my say of a defect. This is why I gave top rating product is strong service could not have been better when needed. I personally can't understand why some gave low rating when they agreed the unit had good power and saved them time, but were not lavished with all the pretties

I've been reloading for over 25 years and this is about one of the best little tools that I have purchased. If you have ever sat in front of the TV with the individual hand tools that you have to crank on, you will really appreciate this item. The Trim Mate allows me to do five steps in one unit. I know you are probably looking at the picture and not counting five but you can add a flash hole deburring tool as well. The only draw back that I can see, when I first bought mine, the base was not screwed to the top and I was able to see the internal gearing. These gears are made out of plastic or nylon instead of metal but I've heard other people say they have had years of service out of their machine so I feel better about it's life expectancy. I can't even tell you how much brass I've already run through this tool. It is well worth the asking price and one of the best investments I've made in reloading.

This is an excellent piece of equipment and is something you won't understand how you ever got along without. The motor is more than powerful enough and does not bog down even under a load. I also purchased the military crimp removers and the primer pocket uniformers. With those accessories, seating primers is effortless and eliminates the cursing over the crimped primer pockets. The unit has two non-turning threaded inserts on the top where it is suggested the case neck brushes be used. I placed the case neck brush in station number five and let a small amount of fine steel wool load on the brush as it turned. I now have mirror bright case necks. I only wish the crimp removers and primer pocket uniformers came with the unit, but even the expense of buying them seperately does not detract from the value of this unit. I have not tried the optional flash hole deburrers.

Strong motor, doesn't stop even when doing two cases at the same time. Easy setup right out of the box. I place it on top of my work table, no need to bolt it down.

I am somewhat new to reloading. I got all the books on how to do it and I could make up my loads. Then I had a gentleman show me this unit and the value of making all of you primer pockets the same and seating all the primers the same depth. This has made a big difference in the groups I shoot. This product is not an option, anyone who is serious about making quality loads and shooting tight groups needs this product. I am not talking about a beer can group I am talking a dime group of 10 shoots.

Holy cow! This thing is huge! Unlike other products I have bought, this one is NOT smaller than I expected. It is heavy, well-built, and just - big! Now I understand the price. This is no upgraded pencil sharpener, folks, this is the real McCoy. This tool will definately outlast me. The 5 gear driven stations will accept a wide variety of tools from RCBS and others. Just about anything that will screw into a universal handle. As another reviewer mentioned, the Lyman flash hole uniforming tool has the same threads. Even though I already have the RCBS primer pocket swager set, I may opt for the military crimp removers just so that all my brass work can be done at once. It comes with a screw-down loop at each end, but the only reason to screw it down is to keep jealous handloading buddies from walking off with it. Get one of these - you won't regret it.

I don't know how I lived without this for so long. Sturdy (no need to bolt down) and versatile. I can debur/chamfer 100 brass in 10 to 15 minutes without tiring my hands holding the manual tool. The neck brushes are a nice touch - while makes it faster is no big deal. But, for me the greatest aspect of this tool is that it easily cleans the primer pocket without effort. For me, that was always the one task I hated to do. Has plenty of power / torque to do all the jobs its listed for (I don't use the military crimp accessories so I can't comment on those). Get one - a real time and arm saver.

This thing ROCKS! A friend of mine got his first and after I checked it out, I had to get one. This will keep your hands from getting sore after processing a couple hundred cases! What a time saver too! This thing makes it so easy to chamfer, deburr, clean and resize primer holes, and process them consistently, that you will process every case you have. I wish they had this or I found this 10 years ago!! Follow up and idea for this after a week of using this. I bought a pair of form fitting work gloves from Home Depot that have some fiction pads on them and have started using those when resizing the primer pocket. Helps with fatigue. Now that I have the prep center, I have been fully processing all my brass. In the past, I would skip the primer pocket cleaning. My .02 worth. Good luck! This thing still ROCKS!

I’ve been reloading a long time and I finally broke down and purchased one of these last year. Wow, what a machine. My only complaint is the machine is noisy, but it works, so who cares. I’m an Engineer so I’m not worried about how fast something is but more importantly, how efficient the operation is. Using quite a bit of military brass this machine will easily take the crimp out for reloading. Is it as easy as the Dillon? No, but for just a few more $, this product does so much more. I especially like the primer pocket uniformer for making every primer pocket the exact same size which really makes a difference in the quality of your reloads, especially when loading for semi-autos; it reduces the risk of slam fires. I also figured early on that a pair of mechanics gloves was the cure-all for hand fatigue when working piles of brass. If you enjoy reloading and making quality reloads, this is a ‘must have’. If your goal is mass production and not quality, you should probably pass on this machine.

This product is amazing; it’s very "heavy" duty, along with being quite large, and such a pleasure to use. This part of reloading, to me, has always been such a time-consuming (and boring) part of the process; not any more. Like so many others, I won’t ever be without one again. The slower speed, in my opinion, alleviates much of the chance of over-doing the task at hand, but accomplishes it (still) very quickly. You will "not" regret buying this item.

It would take me days to do that with my hand, one at a time. My hand would cramp and I hated it. Same with all of the case prep needs. It is effortless, fast, and for $100 bucks well worth it. Guys if you load a lot and want to cut down on the time and effort to prep cases, this Trim Mate is what you need!

I purchased a small primer pocket uniformer with the Trim Mate. For someone like me that loads large lots of ammo at a time, this simple machine was heaven sent. Just plug it in set it on the bench and go to work doing it all in one spot. Put my finished case's in my loading block when done. Ready and waiting for my press to do its job. Great gizmo. Obviously, I think this is a great tool. In reference to the previous submissions, the tip from Bob Bolen of Belgrade MT is an excellent idea. Thanks to him, I have "upgraded" my inside chamfer tool and solved that minor problem. As for Bill Wheeler's observation of the pocket cleaning brush being cut at an angle, (according to the RCBS rep.), that is intentional to help force the longer brush tips into the corners of the primer pocket. I think they clean very well and when the brush tips become too worn, it is easy to "see" that they are worn and cheap to replace. When I intend to do a lot of brass, I mount mine at almost a 90 degree angle on a board that lets the unit set over a large plastic bucket. The only thing this does is let most of the brass trimming fall into the bucket so clean up is easier. You see, I am basically a very lazy person! That's why I use the bucket and also why I bought the trim mate. The only major improvement would be if I could get my wife to do the brass for me. Yeah, that'll happen! Anyway, if you have the money, buy the tool. You will like it.

I recently purchased a Trim Mate Case Prep Center. The unit has 5 rotating capstands that will accept different tools. Tools, such as Flash hole deburrer, a brush to clean the case necks; primer well cleaner; one inside and one outside chamfer tools; and a small container of Mica to use lubricating the casing necks. Even though each tool rotates at a rather slow speed the overall speed with which you can accomplish preparing cases is considerably faster than by hand. The unit is built to accomodate any of the various tools on any of the five capstands. Theres a small well on the top of the unit to accomodate a small container of mica. (I refilled mine with graphite, I'll never do that again, dirty!!) There is larger rectangular well that will hold extra brushes and other tools. On the front and rear there are two plastic loops that could be used to anchor the unit down. I did not find this necessary, I use one anchor point to store the unit on the wall. I think it is an excellent tool and worth the money. it is worth the price

I've used this product for several years, it really moves the rifle case prep right along. I find the speed perfect, with great torque. Wish it was quieter, as I do a lot of this work in the living room... Really appreciate the universal thread mounting -- I actually prefer several of the Lyman tools (long tapered inside deburr, outside deburr and flash hole reamer) and this machine allows me to use them. I will try another reviewer's suggestion about gloves to make holding the cases easier. Would be a full five stars if quieter.

Just finished up brass prep on 1200 once fired .223. (Size, trim, debur, ream, flash hole deburred, pockets uniformed.) The TrimMate did save time and made the task easier. Wish a couple of the stations rotated faster. The Mil-crimp swager is a nice option for the occassional crimped primer pocket. This would not be a good tool to use on a whole batch of brass that need the crimp removed. I'd say the machine is worth what they are asking for it.

I just received my trim mate and started using it on some of my 17 Rem brass. The first thing I noticed was the chamfering station tool does not come to a beveled point at the very top. So when you go to use it on the smaller caliber's WATCH OUT cause it can grab the case and take it from your hand. The result is a ruined brass. I don’t know why they made it that way, they could have come all the way up to a point to chamfer all cases. To fix this problem I just took a ball point pin's point end and cut a very small piece of plastic from the very end and ran a piece of a nail through it and into the top hole opening. It's kind of a top cap. Then epoxied it to the tool. Seems to work fine now. Other than that it seems to do the job just fine.

I like it a lot but I wish the inside neck chamfer was a steeper angle and maybe had a second cutting flute. Or wish we had the option of buying a steeper chamfer cutter. The primer pocket uniformer can really grab a case - especially crimped military brass and it can be hard to hang onto even when the crimps were removed already. I broke the cutter on a small pocket uniformer working on LC .223 brass. I prefer using the Hornady primer pocket cleaner tools as the RCBS wire ones fray easily and get hard to use. Wish it had a better way to manage / dispose of the trimmings but it's not a big problem. Overall this is a REAL work and wrist saver when prepping a big batch of cases.

Purchased this product to remove primer pocket crimps from Lake City .223 brass. I was disappointed to find that the optional cutter worked well for about 200-250 cases and then became so dull that excessive pressure was required to remove the primer pocket crimps. I would gladly pay more for a better (perhaps carbide tipped) cutter. RCBS makes good products and the rotary trimmer idea is a good one, it just needs better product support with better cutters. All in all, I would probably not purchase this product again or recommend it to others because the excess pressure needed to get the job done causes hand fatigue and cramps for any significant numbers of cases.

Just received my Trim Mate yesterday. When I plugged it in and switched it on, nothing happened. I figured I must have ordered the 220V version, but it was the 110V version. Tried it again and nothing. Flipped it over and noticed the motor inside was not screwed in place and was floating around. Also noticed 3 screws inside the RCBS box. Took it apart and the power leads for the switch were not even connected. Sheesh.. mine must have been made on a Friday at 4:30 or something. Screwed the motor in place, put all the gears back in place, connected the power leads and now it works like it should. I gave it a 3 because of "some assembly required".

It is ok. Does what they claim, but if I had to do it over again I probably would not buy it. There are better ways to clean/uniform the primer pockets. The trim mate seems to really grab the case which means you have to grip the case very tightly. My hands tire much more this way. I purchased the military crimp remover and my tool seemed to dull quickly. I would pass on this one.

It does what it's supposed to do. The primer crimp remover is just a countersink with a stop, doesn't work very well. I mass reload .223, thinking this would help speed up my process, it's slow and hurts my hands trying to grip the cases. Wish I had my money back.

What a great tool and wonderful invention this could be!! It's convenient, fast and does a good job except the primer pocket brushes RCBS provides are defective, even their replacement ones. The tips aren't cut even and do a lousy job. On the positive side, even though the machine is a little noisy, I can sit with it in my lap while watching TV (I have the trim mate sitting in a rectangle baking pan to catch any debris), and easily process hundreds of cases without hardly thinking about it. I have a plastic container of cases needing treatment on one side of me and toss them in another container on the other side when they're done. It could be the best tool ever made to easily handle a very inconvenient, boring task, and one I dread doing, if the primer brushes were any good.
