Primers are constantly and rigorously tested for consistency and sensitivity at temperatures and conditions far beyond the range of normal usage. Winchester guarantees better sensitivity for more positive firing in all guns, carefully-controlled weights of primer mixtures, consistency in size and quality, precise measurements and tolerances for anvil heights and stability in extremes of temperatures and humidity.

Since 1999 I have reloaded over 15,000 rounds of pistol and revolver ammo using Winchester Large Pistol Primers. Most have been 45 Auto for Bullseye Competition Matches, but I also loaded 45 Colt, 45 Auto Rim, 44 Special, and 44 Magnum. I have never had any misfires in any of my guns and never had any seating problems with these primers. I have used both a Lee Auto Prime and the RCBS Hand Held Priming Tool. I have also used Winchester Primers in a Dillon RL550B progressive loader with no problems. I find that CCI Primers have a thicker or harder cup than other brands and Federal primers have thinner or softer cups and get flattened more even when using light target loads. Winchester primers are somewhere in between and look "normal" with all of my loads. They seem to have no problem igniting even slow burning powders like WW 296, Hodgdon 110, or IMR 4227. In short, I really like these primers and highly recommend them.

Use for 45 ACP in a Glock with no problems. I use a Lee primer tool (hand and lee classic turret) with zero failures to date. Primers are fragile; they can't get wet and they don't like moisture and oils of any kind. I wear latex rubber gloves when handling primers might be over kill but they stay clean. I store in an air tight ammo can in a large freezer zip lock and some desiccant stuff.

I have been using these primers for 11 years in 45 ACP, 44 magnum, 44 special, and 44/40 for a total of 4800 rounds. I use a RCBS hand primer. I have NEVER had a misfire. I also find excellent consistency in the accuracy of the loaded rounds.

I have used these primers for several years loading them with an RCBS auto primer tool. No failures to fire or any other problems. I plan to use these forever.

I tried a box of these in a run of .45 Colt brass, both Remington (R-P) and Starline, in a Lee Classic Turret Press with the Safety Prime. They always went bang, and they aren't any harder to seat than any other primer I've tried on this press. That's really all that matters with any primer. If they do that reliably, then they're good in my book.

I have used about 10 thousand of these primers in the last 3 years and have found that they work very well. They don't crush when seating, but yet never fail to fire. They work well with flattened ball and cut flake powder, the two types of powder I usually use.
