Designed specifically for the varmint hunter, these bullets feature a large opening in the nose that expands instantly upon impact to create the highest possible opportunity for a one-shot kill. This bullet is not recommended for the hunter who wishes to keep the varmint's hide due to the extreme expansion and possible damage of the pelt. This is not loaded ammunition.

Great product! Bullets out of the box all right at 40 grains. Maybe one out of ten will will 40.1 or 39.9 First rounds out of my Howa 1500 were under 1/2 inch. Worked the load with IMR4198 and now they are at 3/8 groups. I have to say that these bullets even look nice. Sounds dumb but they shine more than any other bullet brand.

The best groups I could get from factory ammo was around 1.5" at 100 yards. Reloading Hornady brass with H4985 and these bullets produced maximum groups of 0.75" and minimum groups of 0.25" with 5 shot groups! Best of all the bullets I've reloaded for consistency and accuracy. This includes Hornady 32gr and 40gr as well as Sierra 39gr. I can't wait to try these bullets out on the 300-600 yard range.

The Berger 40 grain bullet proved to be the most accurate of the 3 bullets I tried. Hornady and Sierra would not perform as well, even trying several different powders and seating depths. The Berger bullets would easily shoot in the .3's. The price is a little higher but well worth the additional cost.

First Review 12/4/2005 5 Stars: First pick to load in my new Ruger MKIIVT .204. Shoots .250 five round groups. Used Varget to get 3800 FPS. Also used CCI BR4 Primers and match prepped Winchester cases. Try it you'll love it! Update Review 8/12/2009: Update! Have killed several coyotes with this bullet at well over 200 yards and they never took another step. Bomb like destruction on the internals! Now at 3900 FPS using W540, same CCI BR4 Primer, Nosler case laded to 2.30 OAL. Still accurate 400+ Rounds later.

Tried many different bullets and loads in my Savage long range precision varminter, then bought a box of 1000 of these. At 100 yards they go into the same hole. Enough said.

My Savage loves these bullets. I use RL-15 powder, Winchester cases, and Wolf primers and am able to keep 1/2 moa (wind permitting) to 600 yards.
