I just received my M70 today, incredible! The fit and finish is almost perfect I think for the price the wood furniture could have been touched up a bit, it's very nice but could use a little ... gloss, I wouldn't dare take any stars away for that though. I took it out to the range and put 100 rounds through her, zero issues she cycled beautifully and went bang with every squeeze of the trigger. The surplus Yugo mags I picked up work perfectly as they are already broken in, it will take a few loads to get the mag supplied to work as well. I bought this as a birthday present for myself, I was on the fence between this model and the similar and slightly cheaper priced Century Arms Wasr, I'm glad I spent a few dollars more and went with the Zastava, I am over joyed with the purchase, now I just need to get more ammo!! That thirty round mag goes quick! If your in the market for an AK you can't go wrong with the M70 it's worth every penny!

Finely Crafted in...Romania...

This rifle can only be described as "entry-level". It is not fancy, there is tooling marks everywhere and raw edges to the metal of the stamped receiver. It rattles, it flexes, and to the American eye, looks like something made of Bulgarian washing machine parts. And you'd be wrong. Is it as accurate as an AR? No. But, it's accurate enough. The AK does it's best work between 100-200m. Beyond that, you're pretty much just wishing the bullet lands somewhere close to what you'd aimed at, but within that 'sweet spot', you will drill the target. This rifle has the legendary reliability of the AK pedigree. I've fired over 1,000 rounds of the most garbage ComBloc ammo without one FTF or FTE. When the bang switch is pressed, it goes off. Every. Darn. Time. It's not an Arsenal, it's not even a Zastava, but if it's an AK that you're after, avoid the American-made ones and get one from a real Eastern Bloc manufacturer. This rifle is just sheer fun to punch holes in paper at the range or hear the ping...

Nice, But You'll Want to Change Literally Everything...

This is a base-model, entry-level piece to introduce one into the world of AK-pattern rifles. It is far better than the first WASRs to make it across the pond into the American market, but you're still going to want to swap out almost everything to turn it into something you'd want to be seen shooting at your local range. Let's start with the polymer furniture, it's dreadful in ways that defy the imagination. The thin handguard started to smoke (and give off the odor of burning fish) after one trip to the range and the stock is angled in such a way that it was not intended to be used by human beings. It was the first thing to go on mine, and it required a saber saw to get the stock off. Next, the device laughingly called a "muzzle brake" got yanked off and replaced with a proper one made by Midwest Industries. I will say that this newer rifle comes with Century Arms' RAK-1 enhanced trigger factory-installed, but I did replace the hammer spring with ALG's extra power spring to reduce light strikes...
