Top 5 Concealed Carry Revolvers

Choosing the right concealed carry revolver can make all the difference in a self-defense situation. Carrying a revolver instead of a magazine fed pistol has pros and cons, revolvers are seen as more reliable but are limited by their capacity. The two main things to decide on when choosing a concealed carry revolver is barrel length and caliber. Most concealed carry revolvers will have a barrel length of 3 inches or less. For cartridge the majority will either be 38 special or 357 magnum. This list has everything from our top of the line choices for a carry revolver to some of our best options for a conceal carry revolver on a budget.

What Customers Are Saying

I would buy the Kimber K6s from Midway USA again and again!

Just purchased the Kimber K6s 2-inch - can't test it at the shooting range because of the virus. However, I want to give my first impression of this wonderfully-made revolver by Kimber. I'm a 357 mag man for 50 years now. My favorite carry gun is the S&M 640 2 1/8 barrel which I've carried for the last 8 years. I will be retiring my S&W 640 and replacing it with the Kimber K6s 2-inch as my favorite carry gun. The main reasons - it's slightly smaller and lighter and it's a 6-shot compared to my S&M 640 5-shot - switching to the Kimber K6s for defense in a no-brainer. And, the quality of the K6s is like no other revolver I've owned or seen - the quality is absolutely the highest of any other revolver. Trigger pull/squeeze is smooth and light (I'm guessing a smooth 4 or 5 lbs). The cylinder is super tight which should make this gun very accurate (assuming you have a steady hand). The finish is the best that I have ever seen (and matches Kimber's reputation for semi-auto pistols). My eyes were able to q...

Taurus 605 Revolver 357 Magnum 2" Barrel 5-Round Black Rubber

Made for the very serious business of self-preservation the 605 is built to the Taurus Zero Tolerance standard in design, fabrication, fit and performance. Meaning there is simply no tolerance for parts that do not perform as if someone's life depends on them. Using the powerful .357 Magnum ammo this quick-draw revolver has plenty of muscle to back it up. Features include fixed sights, crisp single-double action trigger and a transfer bar for added safety.

Taurus revolvers all feature the Taurus Security System, which provides instant-ready defense with built-in ability to secure your pistol and make it inoperable at the turn of a key. When the Security System is engaged, the pistol cannot be fired or cocked and the gun's manual safety cannot be disengaged. The device is part of the firearm and cannot be lost, and the same special Security Key works for both the revolver and pistol Systems (two keys come with most guns). To engage: simply insert the Key into the button on the rear or side of the pistol and rotate one-quarter turn clockwise. This engages the Security System. The manual safety cannot be moved and the trigger cannot be pulled. To disengage: simply rotate the key one-quarter turn back. This releases the Security System, yet leaves the pistol's manual safety in the "safe" position until you are ready to release it yourself and fire the gun.

Great value!

I bought a 605 stainless 2 years ago & it shoots great. It's a heavy gun; 357 loads still hurt the hand but 38 special is very controllable. The double action is smooth & the single action is very light & should only get better the more I shoot it. I might take Mother's mag polish to shine up the matte finish, we'll see. I put a Hogue monogrip on & I love it, just wish I could use a Pachmayr Diamond Pro grip but alas.

What Customers Are Saying

Perfect conceal carry

I purchased this pistol with the single/double action instead of the DAO. I am glad that I did. I put 50 rounds through the revolver this weekend and loved every minute of it. The single action is a very light touch and makes the pistol very accurate. The recoil did not make a difference. Two of us fired the pistol and neither of us felt that recoil was an issue whatsoever We were firing 158 grain lead bullets. The trigger is very crisp in single action and the double action firing is flawless. There is absolutely no stacking. I prefer the exposed hammer. I use a cross draw holster and have no problems with the hammer interfering in the draw. The heavy frame and the rubber grips do their job. The pistol is very stable and easy to shoot. This revolver is a winner in all categories. I personally like this model over the larger version of the King Cobra. This Carry model just fits the bill perfectly. And to repeat, the hammer makes this an even more accurate tool.
