Better than you think
I have owned this cane for 4 years now. I did not get it from Midway USA back then. I purchased it from Cold Steal directly. I have a spinal injury which requires me to use a cane. Living in a state that is a "may issue" rather than a "shall issue" regarding concieled weapon permits (self protection is not considered good enough), I felt like an easy target if ever attacked. NOT with this cane. It is every thing they claim and more. It is razor sharp but more importantly very strong. You can drive this straight down into a 2x4 penetrating a easy 2-3" and the blade doesn't even flex. Using the same 2x4 if you just drop it from 12-15" it will drive deep enough to stand on it's own in the wood. I have never seen anything it's equal. Perfectly stabby
My measurement of blade length was different than listed specifications - 27 1/16" long. It is a 1/4" thick (6mm) square blade with zero edge potential, which is perfectly fine for what it is. Think MORE Zorro, and LESS Conan.. Overall length is spot on at 37.265." The handle part is 5 1/16," with 2 3/8" being the height of the aluminum knob - and that knob is about 1 5/8" in diameter. There is a weak magnetic pull, from the top of the handle, that one could presume to be very nearly full tang length of the square blade. The weight of the blade is enough to drive the point to break skin, if you are foolish enough (as I was) to lower that point onto your bare foot.. Earlier numbers of these weren't able to pass the "shake-and-rattle" test, and often fell free of the scabbard whenever held upside down and shaken too vigorously, so some of the recent production fit more snugly - possibly overly so. A tiny dab of vaseline should help with that. My Sword Cane does fit perfectly though...- THAT Guy.., 11/29/2023

Cold Steel 1911 Guardian 1 Sword Cane 19" 4116 Stainless Steel Blade 37.75" Overall Length
You can add a bit of 1911 pistol flare to your personal style by carrying Cold Steel's patented 1911 Guardian I Sword Cane. It has a handle that closely mimics the characteristics of a 1911 pistol grip in terms of size, shape and thickness, and it features thin, pebble grain synthetic grips. If you choose, you can modify your cane to your own tastes, because it can accommodate most custom 1911 pistol grips easily. The tough and sturdy shaft is made from seamless 6065 Aluminum with a 3mm wall thickness. It’s heat treated for strength so that it can support heavier loads without breaking. It’s also capped with a custom-made rubber ferrule for extra traction, so it resists slipping or sliding on wet, icy or uneven surfaces. The blade is made from 10mm thick 4116 stainless steel and is heat treated to a hard, spring temper. Useful for walking too!
I must use a cane to walk now, and like having a little extra protection in it. Excellent build quality, super pointy steel spike inside, is primarily for thrusting and stabbing, no cutting edge. Good length for this type of weapon. Being 5"8" already and now bent over due to my mobility problems, this can had to be adjusted in height for me. That means cutting the bottom of the shaft off to the correct length for me. Aluminum shaft cut easily with a hack saw and squared up with a file. Also added a real cane bottom tipo to it the one that comes with it is purely for show, not real use. Have nit tried changing the grip panels yet, do have a couple of pair that are not in use though. Maybe try the Pachmayer Signature grips on my 1911 Overall good cane. Gave it only 4 stars because of the decorator only tip and no lanyard / handstrap to help with retention, which I added. Other than being a self defense weapon, it is a usable walking cane for someone that really needs it.- Handicapped and Armed, 6/5/2020
