    Now that I no longer work ...

    Now that I no longer work for Uncle Sam (retired after 24 years active duty service), I can sing the praises of this stuff. The Navy buys this stuff under contract by the 55gal barrel. It is used to clean, lube and preserve (CLP) the barrels of small arms (anything that a man can carry) and guns (usually described by caliber and barrel length; ex. "5 inch -50 equals a 5 inch diameter projectile in a barrel that is 50 times the caliber, or 250inches/20ft long). Now you have to remember, once the barrel is cleaned it is exposed to the weather and sea salts that come up over the bow of a ship. Constant exposure is the norm. This stuff is amazing. The amount of time spent on maintenance was cut dramatically! We also used to steal it from Weapons Division and use it down in the engineering plant. Again, amazing stuff. Further more, to meet the Mil-Spec it had to be basically inert as a bio-hazard and as a flam/oxidation hazard. Again, meets all the criteria. I use it all my fire arms, knives, tools, e...

    The Ruger Wrangler revolver is chambered for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge and is intended to be used with any .22 Long Rifle, .22 Long, or .22 Short ammunition, in subsonic, standard, high velocity, or hyper velocity, so long as the ammunition is manufactured to U.S. Industry Standards.     Wow, such fun.

    Nice finish, easy manipulation, easy cleaning and polishing, accurate. Pro's: Well balanced. Nice grip to gun alignment just naturally. It's accurate once you find the aim-point. Finish is just fantastic. Works so smooth out of the box. Cons: It's a single action. (part of the fun) Front and rear sights are minimal. It's hard for me at least, to distinguish between front sight and the cut-out rear sight. I'm going to try a touch of zombie green to the tip of the edge facing me to see if that helps, if not, I'll try International yellow and red and so on....

    I bought this rod to ...

    I bought this rod to allow me to use a really tight patch to remove lead from my lever action silhouette rifles. My experience is that a tight patch will push the lead out faster and better than a brush will scrub it out. But to do so, you have to use a really strong rod, Ideally, it should be as short as it can be to still reach through the bore to the chamber. For me, this 25 inch rod is perfect for the 24 and 26 inch barrels I prefer.
