Choosing the right reticle for your scope is almost as important as choosing the right scope in the first place. In the video above, Larry Potterfield gives the viewer a basic understanding of rifle scope reticles, explaining not only what a reticle is, but also the differences in reticles and their uses. The term "crosshairs" goes back a hundred years when the aiming device in a scope was literally two hair-thin wires stretched across each other perpendicularly. Crosshairs have been improved a lot since then and we now have reticles that are far more suited to various shooting situations.
