Walther Model PPK Double Action Pistol

Walther gave us the first double-action semi-automatic pistol back in 1929, naming it the model PP for police pistol. A couple of years later, they modified it slightly, shortening the slide and creating a true classic. I've got a Walther model PPK, a classic by any standard. The magazine release is easy to reach, and the magazine ejects cleanly. There's no magazine safety, which allows the gun to fire with the magazine removed. The PPK is a double action designed with an exposed hammer. The magazine holds seven rounds of 32 ACP. It has a loaded round indicator to let you know when there's a round in the chamber. The thumb safety decocks the hammer, locks the trigger, and blocks the firing pin. It has a 3 1/4-inch barrel with fixed sights. The Walther PPK was introduced in 1931, was first produced in pre-World War 2 Germany, then in France, West Germany, and currently in the United States. It's been chambered for the 22 long-rifle, 25 ACP, 32 ACP, and 380 ACP. It's really easy to field strip for cleaning. For a demonstration, be sure to watch the video above.
