California Proposition 63 (The Safety for All Act)

The Safety for All Act enacted January 1, 2018 made the sale of ammunition via the internet, to any individual who does not possess an FFL or other legally documented exception to the law, illegal. As of July 1, 2019, the State of California enacted additional requirements for ammunition sales requiring a Customer to possess a Federal Firearms License (FFL) or Ammunition Vendors License (AVL) in order to purchase ammunition in the state.

Ammunition must be transferred in a face to face transaction from an FFL holder or an AVL holder to the Customer. Therefore MidwayUSA may only ship to Customers who possess one of these license types and the shipment must be delivered to the address which exactly matches the address on the license.

More information is available from the State of California Department of Justice Office of the Attorney General.
