MidwayUSA's John Teachey Placed in President's 100 During National Matches at Camp Perry by MidwayUSA
Columbia, MO -

MidwayUSA, a catalog and Internet retailer with Just About Everything® for Shooting, Reloading, Gunsmithing and Optics, was proud to welcome Purchasing Specialist, John Teachey, back to work after his participation in the National Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio.  Teachey was one of several thousand shooters to enter the revered National Matches this year, which marked the 100th anniversary of the national matches.

Teachey participated and placed well during Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) week of the National High-Power Rifle Championship that took place between July 29th and August 4th.  During CMP week all shooters are required to shoot a US Service Rifle or its civilian equivalent.  Shooting his custom-built AR-15, Teachey placed 79th in the President's 100 and earned the Bronze Medal in the National Trophy International Match.  He was also a member of the Lewis and Clark Shooter's Association Team that placed 16th out of 57 in the National Trophy Team Match.  Teachey was joined on the team by fellow industry professionals Steve Satern from Satern Rifle Barrels and Custom Machining and Kevin Thomas from Sierra Bullets.  Mark Salmi, Dennis Trumble and Frank Harles comprised the other three firing members and Steve Finnel coached the team throughout the day.

Teachey built his AR-15 using only parts available from MidwayUSA including a Satern barrel, Geissele Automatics Trigger, Turner Saddlery sling and various parts from DPMS.

"Placing in the President's 100 was my goal for this year.  It was a gratifying experience to earn that particular accolade in addition to my other accomplishments throughout the matches," said Teachey.

Although his father taught him to shoot at a young age, Teachey began shooting competitively when he was 16 and joined the North Carolina Rifle and Pistol Association Junior Rifle Team.  He's been entering and placing in matches ever since.  Before the National Matches, Teachey won the Missouri State High Power Championship Norman Frazee Trophy.

His path crossed with MidwayUSA long before he began working there as a Purchasing Specialist in 2006.  A long-time customer, he decided to click on the Careers link on the website while shopping one day.  "I've always loved shooting.  The chance to work for a reputable company I've dealt with for years was a wonderful opportunity I couldn't pass up."
