Larry & Brenda Potterfield Welcome Friends of NRA TV Show to MidwayUSA by MidwayUSA
Columbia, MO -

Recently while on location in Columbia, Missouri to attend the 20th Anniversary Mid-Missouri Chapter of Friends of NRA banquet, Friends of NRA TV hosts and producers spent time at the MidwayUSA campus with the founders of the Friends of NRA program, MidwayUSA owners Larry and Brenda Potterfield.

Show hosts Jessie and Matt Duff have been traveling the country the last two seasons meeting the volunteers who dedicate their lives to preserving America's passion of the outdoors and the National Rifle Association (NRA). When they heard the Mid-Missouri Chapter of Friends of NRA was celebrating their 20th Anniversary, they decided to stop by to partake in the festivities and shoot some footage for the episode one of season three.

After a round of sporting clays and attending the banquet Saturday evening, Jessie and Matt spent the following afternoon with the Potterfields at MidwayUSA taking a tour of the facility and learning about the history of Friends of NRA from the original founders of the program. Their video camera even got to take a ride on The Nitro Express, MidwayUSA's state of the art conveyor belt system.

"When Brenda and I sat down 20 years ago with our friends to put a plan in place for raising money, we never imagined it would grow into what it has today," said Larry Potterfield. "Our vision back in 1992 was to see thousands of fundraising events across the nation. Well, we've fulfilled that vision, thanks to the efforts of all those who support our mission to protect Second Amendment rights!"

Larry also talked about MidwayUSA's involvement in the NRA Bianchi Cup, something near and dear to Jessie's heart as last year's overall female champion. In addition to returning as the title sponsor of the 2012 championship, MidwayUSA will also award an extra $15,000 for first time men, women and junior shooter awards.

"While the Friends of NRA program turned 20 years old this year, to hear the story about how it all began is truly inspirational," said show producer Mark Pelizzoni. "Dreamers, like Larry and Brenda Potterfield with the foresight to get people together and raise funds to keep shooting sports alive and active, should get everyone fired up to join this cause."

Tune into Friends of NRA TV Sunday nights at 10:00 p.m. on Outdoor Channel.
