MidwayUSA Promotes Steve Bates to Database Managerby MidwayUSA
MidwayUSA is pleased to announce the promotion of Steve Bates to the position of Database Manager. Steve began his career at MidwayUSA in October 2013 as a Database Administrator after a distinguished career in the United States Air Force. There he served in several different capacities as both an Instructor in Computer Programming, and a Computer Programmer in the Standard Systems Group & Community College of the Air Force. Steve also served as Branch Chief, Enterprise Applications Branch, in the White House Communications Agency. Steve earned his Bachelor’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
“I am humbled by the opportunity to lead a wonderful group of Database Administrators as we assist the rest of the Company in meeting our Customers’ needs,” said Steve.
In his new position, Steve will be responsible for the maintenance and performance of the database environment. He will work closely with the Application Development, Network, Server Administrator, and Web teams in order to ensure enforcement and sustainability of database designs.
“Steve’s previous career experience of software development, along with his passion for database design and performance, will be valuable as our new Database Manager,” said Joel Felten, VP of Information Systems. “His ability to understand the needs of software development, and the data interface needed to ensure it is performant, makes him a perfect fit for this position. Steve will do great in his new position.”
