Columbia, MO -

November was a tremendous month for youth shooting teams that have an active Team Endowment Account with the MidwayUSA Foundation. Donations poured in and through the matching program, Larry and Brenda Potterfield donated over $2.1 million to shooting teams across the country. This generous donation matched dollars that stemmed from private donations, fundraisers and MidwayUSA Foundation promotions.

“November was our best month to date. Our teams have continued to take advantage of our programs and take the initiative to step up and grow their endowments,” said Dick Leeper, MidwayUSA Foundation Executive Director.

A portion of the funds will benefit November’s Constituent Challenge winners. The Constituent Challenge is an incentive program rewarding active shooting teams that raise money for their Team Endowment Account with the MidwayUSA Foundation. Each month, the top three teams that add the most money into their account win additional endowment funds.

  • First place – Massachusetts Shooters Foundation Junior Program from Northborough, Massachusetts will receive $15,000
  • Second place – The X Count from Columbia City, Indiana will receive $10,000
  • Third place – South Texas Shooters from Edinburg, Texas will receive $5,000

The MidwayUSA Foundation is a public charity working to sustain the shooting sports industry by providing permanent funding to youth shooting teams. Currently, over 2,000 shooting teams have an active Team Endowment Account with the MidwayUSA Foundation. Teams can grow their Team Endowment Account through soliciting private donations, earnings, and conducting fundraisers. Each year, they can apply to draw up to 5% of their account balance to use for team expenses, such as, ammunition, range fees, targets, uniforms, travel and more.
