Potterfields Donate Over $645,000 to Support Youth Shooting Sports by MidwayUSA
Columbia, MO -

Larry and Brenda Potterfield, owners of MidwayUSA, recently donated over $645,000 in endowment funds to the MidwayUSA Foundation. A portion of the funds will benefit October’s Constituent Challenge winners. The Constituent Challenge is an incentive program rewarding active shooting teams that raise money for their Team Endowment Account with the MidwayUSA Foundation. Each month, the top three teams that add the most money into their account win additional endowment funds.

  • First place – Creighton Preparatory School, Omaha, Nebraska will receive $15,000
  • Second place – University of Virginia, VA Rifle and Pistol Club, Charlottesville, Virginia will receive $10,000
  • Third place – The Murray State University Rifle Team, Murray, Kentucky will receive $5,000

MidwayUSA Foundation’s Constituent Challenge will continue through November 30, 2014.

In addition to funds awarded to Constituent Challenge winners, the contribution will benefit teams and organizations that have an endowment account with the MidwayUSA Foundation and have received contributions for the month. The Potterfields generously match contributions through several programs, including a 2:1 match for every private donation made to the Foundation. Larry and Brenda’s matching contribution for October was $615,366.

“Shooting teams provide wonderful opportunities for our youth, however there is often little or no funding available, so it’s up to us to help,” said Larry Potterfield, Founder and CEO of MidwayUSA.

The MidwayUSA Foundation is a public charity working to sustain the shooting sports industry by providing long-term funding to youth shooting teams through its Team Endowment Account Program. Currently, over 2,000 teams have an endowment account and those teams can apply for a grant each year to use for team expenses, such as ammunition, travel, uniforms, entry fees and more.
