Product Overview

Provides protection against rust and corrosion when applied to thoroughly cleaned metal surfaces. Can be used as a protective pre-finish treatment due to the fine crystalline structure of the phosphate coating. After application, dry time is 10 to 15 minutes.

Notes:

  • K-Phos is used where a sealed phosphate coating is needed on metal. It has high resistance to rust and corrosion, and provides an excellent bond for Gun Kote.
  • K-Phos is applied at room temperature: first, the surface is thoroughly cleaned to remove all traces of oil, grease or similar contaminants. Surfaces with scale, rust or corrosion should be solvent cleaned or sandblasted to expose bright metal.
  • Apply K-Phos and allow to stand 10 to 15 minutes or until dry to the touch.
  • When tested, steel panels treated with K-Phos have been subjected to the standard 72 hour salt test without a breakdown in the coating.
