A newer version of the Ticam GTX, the Ticam II is now even lighter and better-fitting, with a cuff that conforms more closely to the ankle. The same great design concept blends reduced weight, easy ankle flex and lacing, and the stability underfoot that’s necessary when carrying a heavy pack. Durably waterproof/breathable. The Ticam II is handcrafted in Germany and is also resolable.
Patented LOWA design, I-Lock is a simple cam lace loop placed at the top of the foot. It grabs the lace and holds it tight so the foot can be firmly held and supported while allowing for flexible shaft lacing. Pushing the hook clip upwards easily releases the clamping to loosen the instep lacing.
C4 Tongue, a Lowa exclusive, is anatomically-contoured for a natural flex that cradles the foot in comfort and promotes a faster break-in time. The four main features of the C4 tongue noticeable increases in walk comfort are:
- Asymmetrical padding (thicker towards the outside of the foot)
- Recessed ankle areas (inside higher than the outside)
- Flexible curved inset towards the inside of the foot
- Softer edging on the upper end
Climate Control System- This moisture management system keeps feet dry, protecting you against blisters and hot spots. A series of perforations or holes inside the boot's cuff lining allows air to enter the boot lining while the walking movement pumps heat and moisture back out through the holes. Moisture is pulled away from the foot, evaporating while you walk.
Lowa's Supination/Pronation Support (SPS) Technology, featured in their Classic boots, is key to providing support. By placing TPU inserts within the softer PU midsole mold, Lowa is able to control and often prevent over-pronation and supination which often occur during hiking, and which can contribute to fatigue and injury over long distances.
The Vibram AppTrial sole is a modern trekking boot tread with increased contact area, self cleaning tread for excellent grip, and pronounced front heel edge for good traction downhill.
