The Anschutz 1416 D HB Classic is a fantastic shooter. The 23 inch heavy barrel holds tight groups and the classic walnut stock is a looker. The 1416 D HB Classic is sure to excel at the range as well as in the woods. This easy-to-handle hunting stock, made of lacquered walnut, directs the recoil evenly and horizontally to the rear to the black recoil-reducing synthetic butt plate, considerably reducing recoil that is felt. The easy to grip deep-cut German chequering on the pistol grip and the fore-end provides optimum grip in damp weather and accentuates the spirited profile. The lacquered surface provides excellent weather-resistance in rain, ice and snow. The stock is fitted with sling swivel studs.
The action is used in the ANSCHÜTZ 1416 is the Model 64. This is a bolt action with cam cocking, claw extractor, additional cartridge holder and ejector. Telescopic sight mounting is by an 0.43" wide ANSCHÜTZ Wave Style V-block dovetail rail or by additional drilled and tapped holes. The sliding safety catch on the right hand side blocks the trigger sear in the safe position and simultaneously lifts the trigger sear and bolt release latch. The bolt can also be opened in the safe position, allowing unloading the firearm with the safety engaged.
