Product Overview

The AR500 Armor Adaptive Plate Insert allows for the reduction in armor size with an AR500 Armor Testudo Gen 2, Testudo lite, Veritas, or Veritas Lite plate carrier. The Adaptive Plate Insert, formerly known as the Trauma Plate Insert, dramatically increases versatility by allowing for the ability to: create an in-conjunction armor system, reduce armor size, or to add soft or hard trauma plates for heart and vital organ coverage. One example of a lightweight, smaller armor rig would be to run Hybrid IIIA 10”x12” body armor in a Veritas plate carrier and use the Adaptive Plate Insert with AR500 Armor III+ lightweight 6”x8” armor as a trauma plate/speed plate to maintain coverage of the heart. The Adaptive Plate Insert is compatible with both front & rear pockets, and accommodates 6” x 6”, 6” x 8”, and 8” x 10” ceramic, steel, or polyethylene armor, trauma plates, or speed plates. Simply attach the insert to the attachment panel on the inner pocket of a Veritas or Testudo (Gen 2) plate carrier for a custom configured armor setup.
