The .45-60 Winchester is one of many cartridges designed for the Winchester 1876 Centenial Model rifle. It was introduced in 1879 and was influenced by the .45-70 Government. The .45-60 Win became obsolete by 1935. It is an effective deer cartridge for medium game.
